Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
We have had plenty of posts regarding the nasty crash of Maria De Villota during straight line 'aero' testing in the Marussia F1 car at Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire last year, but these photos taken moments after the impact with an open tailgate of a lorry show the horror of the crew present. Maria sadly lost her right eye during operations afterwards. |

John Miles in an F3 Lotus during 1968... Miles had 12 GP starts during 1969 - '70, all for Team Lotus, scoring two points with a 5th place at the South African race in 1970. John left the team after the death of his team-mate Jochen Rindt at the Italian GP, but did work for the Lotus road car team in an engineering capacity. |

The aftermath of Australian racing legend Peter Brock's fatal crash at the 2006 Targa West rally, close to the end of the second stage when the Daytona Sportscar left the road and hit a tree. Brock was killed instantly but his co-driver Mick Hone survived with serious injuries. Brock won the Australian Touring Car Championship three times, winning 42 races, the famous Bathurst race on nine occasions and a round of the World Series in 1988. |
