Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Pro Stock driver Paul Pittman loses control of his car and crashes heavily as he races against Allen Johnson during the first round of eliminations at 33rd annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway. Pittman said afterwards, 'I saw the wall coming and I said, 'Hold on tight and don't go unconscious. Just stay awake, stay awake, after I hit the wall, I said, 'OK, I'm still here.' Then I saw the other wall coming and I said, 'OK, this is going to hurt. Now really stay awake.' I hit that real hard and then I saw flames.' |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Jean Lafosse: LeMans 1981 I posted a low quality clip of this horrific crash a while back There has never been a very high quality clip but I found the best one that I have This crash is one of the worst ever, you can see the tremendous impact (I still dont know how all the track workers survived, the one closest to the impact looks like he was killed instantly, but they all came out of it alive) and LaFosse with his foot stuck in the car being dragged along the track The one good thing about this clip is that you can see a part of the car fly off to the left which causes LaFosse to instatly lose control and slam into the guardrail at full speed Horrifying accident that never really gets mentioned even in racing circles RIP Jean |

Ian Raby's wrecked Brabham BT14 - Ford at the Zandvoort round of the European Formula 2 Championship in 1967. Ian crashed on the 5th lap and was seriously injured. He was in hospital for two months in Holland before being airlifted back to the UK where he sadly died of his injuries in November '67.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
There was an accident I saw on a You Tube compilation where was a blue car got wrecked, and when someone went over to check on the driver, he jerked away because it was a horrible sight. I don't know the name of the person who was driving, and all I can remember was it was from the 1980's at what looked like the Indy 500 track (I might be wrong about the location.) Do you have any idea who this might be? I've been trying to retrace my tracks on You Tube.
