Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Clay Regazzoni had more than a few scrapes during his long career but none more so than this crash during the Monaco F3 race in 1968 when the guardrail split and he went underneath. Clay managed to duck down as the car passed underneath and in doing so saved himself from being decapited like Koinigg. He went on to win five GP's, but had to retire after a crash in 1980 left him confined to a wheelchair and sadly lost his life in a road accident in 2006. |

There are some other really good pictures of the above crash easily searched for on the net but all watermarked so I didn't want to break the rules, worth alook...

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
German Hans Herrman was very lucky to walk away from this one, his BRM barrel rolling at the German GP at Avus 1959. As seatbelts were not used at this time Hans was thrown out but did not suffer serious injury. Most of Hans success came in Sportcar racing winning the Daytona 24 hours in 1968 and Le Mans in 1970. |
