That is the only filmed footage of his crash and ejection, I have so many different news clips showing the crash I posted in that thread



They covered his body and put up blankets and threaten people trying to take pics, even taking cameras away so nobody really had a chance to take a picture of Gilles in death after he landed.......

Except one person got a small chance, and I have that picture (its in the Gilles thread as well somewhere)

Yup, Williamson, amazing footage and its amazing to see how far track safety has progressed since then, in Europe and North America. Those drivers back then were playing with fire, literally, every time they went on the track. 8 minutes for a safety vehicle to arrive!!!!!

Ok I need to cross check the Kyalami pics so I dont post doubles I have been working for hours on it and during that time I found some amazing sets of pictures from the spectators at the IMS in 1964

There are some other photos thrown in from the press booth but this set is very nice, about half color half black and white

Horrifying photos as well, Eddie driving down the track with his car and him on fire (he was most likely dead already or at least knocked out) right after smashing into Dave McD

This has to be the biggest fireball ever at Indy

Roger W and David P im still working on, promise that is next after Eddie S. and Dave McD
