A 45-year-old man was arrested for the murder of his wife, whose body he hid in a freezer at their home in Osasco, Greater São Paulo. Police were led to the grisly discovery following an anonymous tip.

Authorities reported that the suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, continued his daily life undisturbed, believing his heinous act would go unnoticed. The victim, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was found asphyxiated and stored in the household freezer.

"The scene at the house was disturbing. There were no signs of struggle, no blood. The body was meticulously placed in a fetal position, frozen solid, complicating the identification process," said the lead investigator on the case. The police noted that the couple had a history of domestic disputes, often escalating to physical violence, which had raised concerns among neighbors.

The suspect, apprehended at the scene, claimed self-defense, alleging his wife had threatened to poison him. This assertion, however, is being scrutinized by the authorities as no supporting evidence has been found to substantiate his claim.

Following his arrest, the man was treated for hand and arm injuries at a local emergency room before being transferred to the city's jail.
