Almost like what happened to my dad 10 years ago- snapped off a 4x4 road post sign 18" above the ground with the left side of his chest when he laid his motorcycle down going around a curve and hit some loose gravel. Broke and separated every rib on his left side from his chest cavity; destroyed his spleen and one kidney, severly damaged the other kidney, his liver and his pancreas. Got him out of surgery at 6 pm, took 24 units of blood between then and the next morning at 6 am. Lived for 2 weeks, just couldn't keep him stablelized- one organ would fail, they'd get it back working then something else would shut down. He was one tough old bird, though- if anyone could have survived that it would have been him. RIP dad.
