27 year old woman (allegedly) hanged herself on the patio of a rental 'cabin' at a vacation site of some sort. She apparently chose to do so shortly after having a shower, because she is wrapped only in a towel.

Her sister is contesting the ruling of suicide, claiming that she was more likely killed by an angry ex-boyfriend who staged the hanging after strangling her. A not uncommon line of reasoning that many relatives pursue, as thinking that their loved one was murdered is apparently easier than thinking they were suicidal and you missed it.

There was concern, both from the sister and the 'netizens' on the news sites that her towel didn't come off during her 'noose dance' and that her foot is still on the chair. I can't explain the towel, to be honest. But she certainly isn't the first hanger we've seen whose foot was still on the chair and one on the floor.

Further, her protruding tongue (very common in hangings but quite rare in strangulations, actually) is visible in a couple of the photos. On top of that, there is a small spot of partially-dried urine directly beneath the body and a very obvious fecal stain on the back of the towel where her bowels voided during the hanging.

If she had been killed elsewhere and the hanging staged, I don't believe that we would see these features manifesting as we have.
Given these factors and the police ruling, I still incline towards suicide. But it can always go either way in Mexico.

Anyway, the photos are of varying quality. Some are a bit censor-blurred, some watermarked, and some black and white. But there are enough of them that I figured she deserved her own thread.

Why can't her family just accept the official COD? If she was in an abusive relationship, and she saw no easy way out, suicide probably DID seem like the most viable option in her mind.
Of course I wasn't there to witness the tragedy unfold, so I'm in no position to judge.

A towel can be mighty tight. I have seen girls wearing only towels while waterskiing. It was a suicide. Poor young lady!

I am surprised at how many people hang themselves outside in what seems to be somewhat populated areas. Do hanging suicides make a lot of noise aside from the usual 'ropedance'? Like loud gurgly breathing, death rattles etc. that could possibly get someone's attention?

Go watch some of the hanging videos in the vid section. Katelyn Davis, the Syrian suicide, or than Indian lady with the crying selfie vid beforehand.

They're actually all fairly silent while dying.
