That doesn't seem road rash to me. The skin seems to have been excised and removed. Wonder if he had a weird condition or he was partially flayed alive as part of torture

Nah, looking at the bottom two pics makes me think he was dragged. Ceck out the elbows, the bones are even grinded down. The skin could have been cleaned up. Maybe anything left was dirty shreds and unusable?
