I find it very hard to be angry at these people. They did what they had to. What the OP doesnt mention is in most cases the reason children were chosen were because they were more susceptible to illness. If a child got sick, even a cold it was killed and eaten. How can you hate someone for choosing to live in stead of die? Perhaps said sick child COULD have lived but under the conditions chances are it would have died. I'm not saying it's right, in fact it wrong. But i cant hate someone who was put in that position. None of us have been in that position, who are we to judge?  |

People have an instinct that orders them to survive. To cull the young and vulnerable from the herd is nature. To do otherwise is a perversion of the natural order. We are predators, and they were just an easy kill. Meat is meat. In the end, we are all just food for worms and fertilizer. Don’t flatter yourself that your destiny is anything greater.
