The Civil Police, local residents, family and friends of the victims were completely shocked, when the bodies of four young men were found, aged between 19 and 24, who went missing after they were arrested on Thursday by military police in the municipality of Apuí. All were executed with shots to the head and their bodies were thrown in the woods.

They were reportedly arrested by military police under the command of their lieutenant, by Juma River in the city in the early hours of Thursday. The land owner was the grandfather of one of the murdered man, who went to spend some time and also Christmas with him.

The military police was investigating a complaint of drug use by those four guys and went to the site on the banks of the Juma River in search of them.
According to the family, young people were fishing and hunting.

Marks of torture and execution with head shots

People who participated in the search of the bodies told the reporter that all had signs of torture and were shot to death.

Family members flatly accuse the military police for the massacre and cite the names of those involved, which formed the garrison, and a forest guide along with them.

People in the area had witnessed the military police approached to them and after finding nothing illegal on the men and in the house at the site ground, the police started beating them mercilessly.
"At one point one of them complained to the lieutenant who had broken his ribs, but the torture continued," said a witness in testimony to the civil police station.

Not have been seen since the river crossing

After the assault, the four boys were tied with plastic strips and were taken across the river with a boat. Before crossing, police took the cell phone of the site owner, the grandfather of one of the victims.
Since then, the young men were no longer seen and their relatives started to search for them.

On the other bank of the river was a motorcycle used by young people, which was burned down by the police, according to witnesses.

The Civil Police accompanied the family to find the bodies of four young men for burial.

Clarification by the military police

The Military Police clarifies that according to preliminary information the garrison of military police with the names involved in murder complaint, deny the attendance of the occurrence and the charges related to the four victims of crime in the city.

The Military Police is fully contributing to the research of the Civil Police in order to elucidate the facts and will establish inquiry and ascertain the facts internally forwarding the Audit State Military a completion of this peculiar incident as required by law.
