Re: Florida Man Killed by Exploding Modified Vape Pen
I had no idea how much danger I was putting myself in a few years ago before regulated mods started getting popular. I just thought the clouds were cool, like everyone else at the time. I've since switched to Vuze and I feel like RJ Reynolds has me covered.. maybe. |

Re: Florida Man Killed by Exploding Modified Vape Pen
~ How do mechanical mods work? A mechanical mod forms a simple electric circuit when a switch, button or other mechanism is depressed. Unlike regulated mods, which have built in protections and smart chipsets, a mech mod is activated mechanically, by way of conductive surfaces coming together with the battery to create a circuit. ~ Are Mechanical Mods safe? Mechanical mods are generally safe if used correctly. However, many of the faults that do happen are as a result of the battery. ~ Why are mechanical mods so expensive? Mech mods are more expensive to buy than their regulated counterparts. But the expense doesn't stop there, either. They go through batteries fast, so you'll end up buying replacements sooner. Mech mods also use VG liquid a lot faster than a regulated mod, so you'll be paying for more of it. As mentioned, mechanical mods do not have any circuit boards, so there is nothing to keep the device from fully defecting if there is a malfunction. |

Re: Florida Man Killed by Exploding Modified Vape Pen
Truly, those unregulated mods looked so much cooler but the possibility of this happening scared me out of trying any. I’m not an electrician, I’m a retail wench. As such, I knew I had no business playing around with coil builds and unregulated mods. Gave up vaping all together after collapsing a lung LOL
