one of my guilty pleasures in laughing at death is those 2nd and 3rd and 4th world countries where overturned fuel tankers turn into festive events and it's probably some stupid old man, the one with the straw hat, craggy face, and tattered shirt and sandals comes late to the party with a bucket under his arm...and a cigar ...boom!

every 4 months another kablooey and 100 dead who should have known better. I wonder if they actually set up traps for the tankers to tip over...

The standard protocol for rescue workers is to make sure the site is secure. Active fire from a crashed fighter jet makes me less likely to even go near that thing until it was secured, let alone take videos and walk up close. Rule of thumb, pun intended, is the site should fit within your thumb to determine a safe distance.

Or else you end up like those people in rural Mexico who all went to scoop fuel from an overturned oil tanker and literally 40 people died cause it caught fire and burned them all alive. Tons of examples in Africa too.
