Female Fruit Hawker Takes a Spill
So this is a bit of a rarity. An actual death scene from China. This stuff is usually pretty hard to get leaked, so it is especially interesting when it does. The story was tough. I studied several years of Japanese in college, but that was years ago and Chinese is a whole 'nother kettle of fish. So I did the best I could with the aid of Google. Anyway, this fruit vendor (aged late 30's) was apparently robbed on her way to the market in the morning. The story was unclear whether she was accosted by bandits or government officials. Normally I'd assume bandits for sure, but the verbiage was weird and this is China, so who the fuck knows. Anyway, she allegedly tried to flee with her fruit down a sizable flight of stairs. Whether she tripped and fell or was pushed by her assailants is unclear (not just to me-the story stated that it was uncertain), but it is evident that she fell some distance, cracked her skull open on the pavement below, and then urinated all over the street as she was dying. An interesting sidenote. Bladder/bowel evacuation is not an uncommon side effect of violent death. As any regular user of this forum knows, it happens fairly often. Usually the news crews 'shoot around' the stains or cover them up with towels or whatever else is at hand, in an effort to afford the dead person a modicum of dignity in death. Even the Mexicans and Brazilians, who rarely bother to edit out the piss stains, never actually make mention of it in the article. Not this Chinese source, though. The headline on the front page, when translated, actually read "Face Down in a Pool of Blood and Urine." What a fucking epitaph, eh?  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

That looks to me like 'beaten to death' and not 'an accident'. She couldn't have been making that much money. How pitiful to try and rob her or shake her down. |
