Its a modern day version of those old Victorian death pics, where the deceased would be sitting or standing with the living family members. He looks so weird, like a mannequin??oh well, whatever floats their boats I suppose

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO — A murdered boxer in Puerto Rico has received an unusual send off.

Christopher Rivera was honored at his wake by standing on foot in a makeshift boxing ring set up in a community center of a public housing complex in San Juan, where he had lived some time and had many friends. (Maybe one of those "friends" popped him off? Editor's note.)

The 23-year-old wore sunglasses, boxing gloves and a yellow-and-black boxing uniform. Police reports indicate that he was shot dead on Jan. 26. on a public street. No one has been arrested and no motive has been established. However, the area has been known as a hot bed of drug crime and a family member, who declined to be named, admitted that Rivera had a past history with drugs and may even have sold them at one point.

Marin Funeral Home Vice President Elsie Rodriguez told The Associated Press Friday that it took them several hours to create the scene. She said Rivera had told his relatives that if he died, he wanted his boxing career acknowledged at his funeral.

The funeral home is infamous for other thematic wakes they have celebrated in the past, including one featuring a dead man riding his motorcycle.
