Empire State Building Shooting: Jeffrey Johnson Kills Ex-Coworker
Jeffrey Johnson, 58, a clothing designer who had been laid off a year before, fatally shot former colleague Steven Ercolino, 41, on the sidewalk outside Manhattan's Empire State Building on the morning of August 24, 2012. After Johnson pointed his pistol at them, two police officers shot him dead. Nine bystanders suffered non-fatal wounds from police bullets or ricochet fragments. The incident took place outside the building on West 33rd Street, rather than indoors. |

crazy.. disgruntled employee, don't know the whole story just yet but about 8-10 shot, 2 dead 1 being the gunman. it seems he was refused entry into his job as he was fired yesterday and was trying to get to his boss

Re: Empire State Building Shooting: Jeffrey Johnson Kills Ex-Coworker
May times more people are killed by cars, why are cars legal. Drunk drivers kill many times more people why is drinking legal. Maybe it's because we have discovered that you can't change human behavior by passing laws against inanimate objects. When all the news comes out you will probably find that he was an alcoholic or drug addict, which was probably what got him fired, so it was already illegal for him to have a gun anyway. So lets pass another law that they will never enforce and will only hurt law abiding people, smart!!! |

Re: Empire State Building Shooting: Jeffrey Johnson Kills Ex-Coworker
They should have been restricted to begin with if you want to shrink the number of firearm related crimes. But since a lot of people have them already, making them illegal will only give more power to the people that will use them for crimes. Let's say this guy didn't have a gun, could he have used a bat? A knife? The problem is the guy, not the gun. It was simply the tool he chose to get the job done. I'm for having guns but if I could somehow make ALL of them disappear I would. |
