An elderly woman, 91, died after being attacked by three rottweilers in the municipality of Campos do Jordao (SP). According to the police, the case happened around 10 am and the victim was inside the kitchen. To contain the attack, police had to shoot the dogs.

Police said the woman was in the kitchen when she was attacked by dogs and was dragged to the yard of the property. She lived with her brother and sister in law, who owned the dog, but was alone on site at the time of the incident.
Frightened, neighbors realized that the elderly was under attack, called to the fire department to assist the elderly. The Military Police was also called, they had to shoot the dogs in an attempt to contain them.

A neighbour, who lives near the victim's home and called the rescue after noticing the attack. Said: "How could not see the street, climbed the wall and saw that they were on top of a person, but could not see who it was. When police arrived, the dogs also tried to attack the police. They [the dogs] were enraged, "he said.

According to the Fire Department, the elderly was taken to the city emergency room, but succumbed to his injuries. A spokesperson for the hospital said the victim arrived at the scene with injuries to the face and had lost a lot of blood at the time of the attack.

Two dogs were killed by police and another injured after being hit by a bullet in the leg. According to the Secretariat of Zoonoses, where the animals were sent, the dog who survived has just over a year old and does not appear to be violent. One hypothesis is that the dogs may have started a fight between them and ended up advancing to the elderly.

The expertise was on site in the morning and the civil police will investigate the case to identify what motivated the attack by dogs and determining liability of the owners of the animals.

Good the two dogs were shot.
But in my opinion the young dog should be put down, too. It crossed the red line, thus "learned" from the older dogs to bite/attack humans.
If it's "just" a small/quick snap-bite, a young dog could and should be trained, not to bite again -depending on the reason of the biting and the generally background of the dog-, in my opinion. But even though, you could never trust that dog again.

Every single bite incident is one incident too much.
