Re: Dutch Soldier Dies In Car Crash-Aruba
The second man who was seriously injured died later at the hospital, so the victims are now two: Casper Hendrikse (24) and his colleague Frank Kerpel (19), both dutch marines. Looks like speeding (and maybe drunk driving) were the causes, and the driver has been held. Dutch marine is fourth 2012 traffic death A set of pics showing the rescue operations can be found here: http://arubaherald.com/911/2122-dutc...fic-death.html Btw, what does the glove worn by the firefighter pointer read? According to Radio Nederland Wereldomroep (http://www.rnw.nl/caribiana/article/...delijk-ongeluk), the driver (a 24 Y.O. marine), is still held accused of reckless driving resulting in death and driving under the influence of alcohol: he's been held "in order not to hinder the investigation" and "to prevent him from leaving the Netherlands". Several reported that the Marines were in a party and had been drinking (in the last photo, the bodies being carried to the airport). http://www.rnw.nl/caribiana/article/...delijk-ongeluk http://www.rnw.nl/caribiana/article/...delijk-ongeluk http://www.diario.aw/2012/03/despedi...savaneta-kamp/ http://www.defensie.nl/marine/actuee...eden_collega_s |
