Dominican Republic - 18 Year Old Girl Drowned at the Beach
On 10th June 2019 in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), 18 year old A.S.G.S. drowned. 'A' was at the Uvero Alto beach with her friends. They were all enjoying themselves in the water when the tide trapped them. 'A' is the only one who didn't make it out alive.

Re: Dominican Republic - 18 Year Old Girl Drowned at the Beach
People have always drowned at the beach in the Dominican Republic, as they do everywhere there is a body of water in the world. Atlantic beaches in the Caribbean are treacherous because the Atlantic has tremendous rip tides. It's safer to swim on the Caribbean Sea side than the Atlantic side of any Caribbean island. Punta Cana, where this girl drowned, is one of the worst spots of all because you have the Atlantic on one side, the Caribbean Sea on the other, and the current passing from one to the other through the Mona Passage between Hispaniola and Puerto Rico. Split-second changes in conditions and rip tides out of nowhere. |
