Dispute Over Refrigerator Results in Women Shot Left and Right
Kind of a goofy case here, as far as details go. According to witnesses and police, a 40 year old man and his 29 year old girlfriend were at his 40 year old ex-wife's house to pick up a refrigerator. Somehow a dispute arose regarding the ownership of the fridge, along with a heated argument. For reasons no one seems able to explain cogently, the end result of this dispute was that the man got a rifle, shot his ex-wife in the head while she was running away from him, then turned and shot his current girlfriend in the neck and shoulder. The ex-wife (Edilene, lying face down near the steps in the photos) was killed instantly while Girlanadia (lying on her back in the green shorts) was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Reports are directly conflicting about whether she survived her not. I read some that said her status was unknown and some that said she died on the way to the ER. In either case, while some neighbors called the ambulance and police in response to the shootings, a pack of about a dozen of them converged on the fleeing husband, took his rifle, and then lynched him from a stop sign and beat him half to death. When the police finally arrived, he was lying unconscious in a nearby alley. He was taken to the hospital, where he recovered and was placed in custody.
