I gotta agree with you here and so do my IMMIGRANT parents- they learned English right away (no classes, TV and interacting with other English-speaking folks) and obey/comply all the laws and other bullshit. If it wasn't for the communist rebels in my mom's country, her whole family would've been killed (her father was involved in the military) and hey, no me Too bad she made it here Otherwise, she had a great life over there and HAD to move here. My father just wanted a better opportunity in life.
