Cyclist's Head Crushed After Being Run Over by Truck on Hill
Tianguá, Ceará, Brazil A cyclist, identified as Roberto B., was killed in a serious traffic accident on BR-222 at the Tianguá Hill. According to information provided by family members, Roberto rode the same route by bicycle every day. According to the report from the driver of a truck involved in the incident, two large vehicles were traveling uphill on the mountain, while he and the cyclist were descending the road. According to the information, the cyclist reportedly attempted to overtake in a no-passing zone with a solid line. In the slow lane, intended for uphill traffic, a truck was traveling, and in the middle lane came a box truck. The driver of the box truck was unable to swerve and ended up colliding head-on with the cyclist. Upon impact, Roberto was thrown under the truck that was descending the mountain, and one of its tires ran over the victim, causing immediate death. The truck driver stayed at the scene and called the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and rescue services. The driver of the box truck reportedly fled the scene after the accident.       |
