On the contrary, USA killed more than 10 to 1 even with the silly assed rules we followed. Read the battle accounts, in straight up jungle shootouts AK47 vs. M16 we still killed many more NVA/Vietcong than they killed US. The losing decision by the USA was to enter a ground war in Asia without being willing to engage in genocide. It was only bombing of Hanoi ordered by the much beloved Richard Nixon (God Bless his soul) that brought the communists to the bargaining table. We had troops in Vietnam from the early 1960's to 1973, peak was over 500,000 around 1969. We lost 59,000 in 10 years of fighting, hardly "all" of our troops. |
