Car Slides Under Truck

Only story with these was that the truck failed to have rear bumper guard. Yeah like that would have helped.

Re: Car Slides Under Truck

Nice post but I have to say repost but a good one. Does no one know where the brake is? If not it is right next to the gas.

She braked and slid - you can see the skid marks behind the car. And yes, a bumber guard would have prevented the car from going under the trailer - this is just the type of accident those are made to prevent, by causing the main impact to occur at the level of the engine on a sedan and stopping the car before the trailor can directly hit the driver/passengers.

Re: Car Slides Under Truck

I dont know if the "DOT" bumper is even known about in other countries. It does make a nice step for climbing in and out of trailers tho.

Re: Car Slides Under Truck

I see people all the time tailgating. This is the consequence. Even if the truck hit the break real hard. It's your responsibility to secure your brake space in front of you. You're not going faster by taking all the space in front of you, it's stupid.

Yep, it's one of my pet peeves...one of these days I just know I'm going to be rear ended by one of those idiots, I just hope it's someone with money so I can do the neck brace thing in court.

Yep, that was what I figured - trucks stop a lot easier than cars on moderately slippery roads due to the larger contact area of the giant tires and the greater weight on said tires.
