Well, actually, now that I have researched it, they were apparently produced from the 1930's to the 1960's. The design sure looks older. It resembles an American gun from the 1890's to 1900's They are reported to be a very high quality gun, well machined and accurate. They were made in different sizes, and according to what I read, this type (.22 caliber) was popular with gauchos for killing rabbits and snakes, and was a traditional weapon with them. I think I will try to find one. I find it very interesting. But I'm not going to shoot myself over a girl with it. It's not THAT interesting. |

That looks like a very nice little gun, too! It looks like brass, but it was probably machined out of one piece of Bronze, and NOT brass. That is a good thing, as bronze guns do not explode when fired. Brass ones can, and cast iron ones were notorious for doing so after many rounds. If you have trouble finding ammo for it, you might do as several people have suggested, and have a barrel liner installed to make it a .22. That ammo is very cheap. I'm sure that gun would be very fun to plink with, shooting at bottles and cans, and the cost of ammo won't bother you at all. |

I use percussion caps and 777 black powder I pack a little 30 cal ball. I use about 4.5 gn so it don’t buckle to much. It’s accurate only about 6 inches from barrel after that good luck. It has no rifling in the barrel. I hate the little mfer cause if ball hits something hard it might go all super ball on my ass.
