Friends of the group of young people of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes paid homage and sang during the burial.
The suspect told police that the shot was accidental and that he thought the 22-caliber rifle was out of ammunition.
In a statement to the Civil Police, the suspect explained that his uncle, appointed as owner of the shotgun, had commented that the cartridges were defective because they were old. He confessed that he aimed the gun and pulled the trigger, but he did not expect it to have ammunition.
According to her boyfriend's testimony to the police, Luana wanted to go to the bathroom, but the place was busy. They went to the bathroom in the suspect's uncle's room in the back of the house, where the shotgun was kept. In the bedroom, the young man took the gun to show Luana. According to the suspect, a week before the case, he had sent a photo holding the gun to his girlfriend.
At the time, he had explained that the shotgun was to do the security of the house, because several assaults were being registered in the neighborhood. In the version of the young man, the trip to the room of the uncle ended up also serving to show the weapon, considering that the photo sent had been taken in the place.
Luana's boyfriend explained to the delegate who investigates the case, that the uncle, besides informing that the cartridges were damaged, had warned that he would throw away. It was not the first time he had handled the gun and at all times, the shotgun was out of ammunition.
It was during a birthday party at the boyfriend's house, named as the author of the shot.
Luana's family lawyer, explained that Luana's boyfriend had served the Army for a while. "In his version the shot was accidental, but he served the Army, knew how to handle the gun, at least it was reckless," said the lawyer.
Still according to him only the expertise and the cadaveric examination could indicate, in fact, if the shot that killed the young person of 20 years was accidental.
