Altamira is a region very rich in iron and golden ore, many groups have fought for this land, the constants deadly clashes among Indians, miners and farmers makes this region so violent. Many environmentalists also have been killed in the that region, over the last years. I thing that there´s a thread about Dorothy stang here.
