I believe that's probably what actually killed him, as it did a very good job of physically protecting his head and face. It just did too good of a job since he was squashed into it so tightly.

I believe, when your number is up, it's up. My airbags and car worked exactly the way they were supposed. I've been a crash test dummy myself.

I'd like the see the entire vehicle. It could be a vehicle alot higher than his hit him broadside, driver's side. Front airbags usually need to be hit in the center area of the front bumper in front airbag only cars. There may have been two other vehicles besides his involved.
