Re: 81yo Killed By Pitbull Dog
Any time you find a dog - no matter the age(aside from a tiny puppy) it needs to -NOT be free in your house/yard (puppy included) -NOT be in contact with your other pets(puppy included) -NOT be in unsupervised contact with children or visitors(Puppy included) It needs to be quarantined until taken to the vet for a check up and vaccinations. (Puppy included) It needs to be closely observed for weeks, to study it's behavior. The dog won't act like itself for weeks, until it gets comfortable in it's new home. May be sweet as pie and timid for awhile, then get comfortable and it's true temperament comes out. No matter how nice it is, do not allow it to cuddle in the bed. It's too soon. If you don't know dog behavior - you're putting yourself in a dangerous situation and won't even know it until something happens - like getting your throat torn out. It needs to be put on a schedule, so it can get used to a routine. Get to know each other. Just remember that you cannot trust them and they cannot trust you. You do not know each other. |
