I have, working 20 years in hospital I saw many people before & after (& during). We tried to make them look 'at peace' for the families, but there's not much one can do with the slack, waxy faces.

That really may not be such a bad thing. They can SEE that their relative is gone, and KNOW it. There is no denying it when you see it for real.
