That's what I was thinking too. Even pheasant shot usually does more damage, but we can't see the other side of her head. But to be honest, I would not expect it to be there if it were a 12 gauge. Good title though.

News story definitely stated that the injury was from a 12 gauge shotgun. Didn't specify what sort of shot it was loaded with. May have been rock salt for all I know. My guess is that the other side of her head looks like last week's Meat Lovers' pizza leftovers.
