Isn't anyone gonna' ask? WHAT THE FUCK is a 10 year-old doing crossing the road on a bicycle after dark? I don't see a pedestrian crossing anyway! The cop was answering a call and trying to give the element of surprise. Yeah he was speeding but OMG don't let it take too long to respond to your call when there's a B&E huh? Hypocrits! Fuck it, charge the parents with negligence.

Tragic: the lad probably didn't hear the approaching police car because of the passing car and that same 'on-coming' cars' lights probably blinded the police driver (as you can't see past a light) at that crucial time. So that's 2 contributing factors. But the fault belongs to the cop. He ABSOLUTELY should have had the blues & twos going if he was driving fast (and he was) and the proof of that being 'an accident waiting to happen' is bourne out by him not touching those brakes at all! If he'd been driving slower, he'd have had more thought time to avoid the collision. Or if he'd had the sirens/lights going, the kid would have been warned. Also, I didn't like the casual walk back to the scene.  |
