Re: Polish Police Shoot A Crazy Man
At first they were warning shots p.s. I live in Poland, police officers here do not undergo a great training that is a fact. And besides, they can retire after (only) 15 years of duty, so why bother undergoing heavy training |

Re: Polish Police Shoot A Crazy Man
Now that is idiot logic. You think you get to murder people based on the thought that they MIGHT pull out a gun or knife if I don't kill them?? Maybe someone drugged the guy or something. Maybe someone put GHB in his drink or something. FOr that he deserves to die? Where is the calming negotiaters?? Maybe not enough time for them to arrive? Not sure. But there was no need to shoot this guy dead if all he had was a baton. Too bad.

Well because when a moral person decides to get a job in the public sector, you are supposed to be committed to helping people and taking pride in your job and doing the right thing. Imagine a fireman, or a paramedic said what you just said? "Well that paramedic only got the job for the good pension, so he didn't bother taking his training seriously. whoops" |

Re: Polish Police Shoot A Crazy Man
Warning shots! Are you kidding me? That was absolutely one of the worst use of force incidents I've seen in thirty years. Way too many shots without a hit, no attempt at using less lethal force or force escalation techniques, no attempt at limiting the bad guy's exit from the scene, poor shooting technique, poor cover, limited or non existent verbal commands, really poor tactical movement, and they shot at a fleeing felon. What boobs. Everyone on DR always bitches about American law enforcement, but I've never seen anything that fucked up. If this had been in the US, the lawyers would have killed each other trying to represent the bad guy.

Re: Polish Police Shoot A Crazy Man
The whole concept of warning shots boggles my mind. So incredibly dangerous. I carry a gun daily, both professionally and in my private life, and if it's time to shoot, it's time to shoot center of mass to stop the threat. In the US cops would have lit his ass up in a heartbeat. Can't say I would have shot him given the circumstances, but that being said, a person armed like he was could definitely have posed a lethal threat. *At the moment he was shot* though, I don't think that line had been crossed yet. Call for back up, surround him and tazer him, or pop him with some beanbag rounds first is what should have been done IMO.
