A Bronx man was jailed in Florida for recording an up-skirt video of a woman at a mall.

Karina Portillo had no idea Christopher Mendoza, 37, was creeping behind her at the Osceola Square Mall on Tuesday night.

“I just didn’t feel anything, like absolutely anything,” the 19-year-old victim said.



But a security guard saw the whole thing on surveillance.

Christopher Mendoza, 37, of the Bronx, is in custody in Florida on video voyeurism charges.

CCTV footage shows Mendoza holding a gym bag with a cellphone on top to record video between Portillo’s legs as she wore a black skirt.

She had just finished a job interview and stopped at Burlington Coat Factory afterward. Whilethere, Mendoza followed her around the store shooting video up her skirt, she later learned.



Mendoza got out of line shortly after and threw away the bag. But Kissimmee police officers arrested him as he left the store. He was charged with video voyeurism.

“I hope he learns from this experience, that he realizes that this is something that’s disgusting and not right,” Portillo added."A person can look perfectly normal but yet, not right in the head."

I witnessed an up skirt type incident about five years ago. I was getting coffee at Coffeebean and I saw a guy slowly driving behind two high school age girls walking on the sidewalk. It was summer and hot, so they were in skimpier clothes. What caught my attention was that the idiot was using a flash...real smooth. Well the girls were totally unaware of this ass hat so he kept taking photos. I got back in my unmarked car and pulled the idiot over. After checking his phone for pictures, I found it was full of child porn, up skirt, and just young girls clearly without their knowledge. I got our sex offender guys on scene and the guy was arrested and ended up having significant priors for child porn and annoying children. He got four years in state prison. These guys are out there and I think it's at least partially being driven by the up skirt porn websites. They've always been out there, but I think we're all more aware of them because of the Internet.
