They did show tremendous restraint. I wish they could control their voices though, they always sound like they have lost their minds. Not as calm as you would want them to be, even under the circumstances. What it translates to is rage. Cops should be able to do their job without rage. Scary.
Look up the concept of command presence and command control. Their raised voices is a technique used to keep people from attacking further. It works well. It is supposed to be scary.
