Man Detained for Filming in Public

She told the man what he was doing was wrong( which was not), she's wrong. Ignorance at it's best.

You couldn't contradict yourself more if you tried. The guy explained he was filming in public and wished to remain silent...that is not provoking anything or anybody. Simply put, the man knew the law, and the female officer did not. Luckily her Sgt. was smart enough to realize she was wasting time with a guy doing nothing wrong and let him be on his way.

Re: Man Detained for Filming in Public

Is it an offence to call a female police officer a stupid power crazy bitch? Hope so. Come and get me!

I disagree and think you misunderstood.

I know he was in public
I know he knows the law
BUT, standing there filming the cars in the police parking lot was NOT going to go unnoticed, and THAT is exactly what the person wanted! He did it ON PURPOSE to get them out there to show how they violate peoples rights, and he was smarter than them....in other words = he provoked them!

Apparently we have different understandings of the word "provoke". Had he been standing there saying things like: "No I'm not turning my camera off or giving you my name bitch, this is completely legal...now fuck off."

Then maybe you'd have some ground to use the word provoke here. He used no harsh language, and hell...the majority of the time he chose to remain silent.

Simply put, the female officer there didn't like what he was doing and tried to go on a power trip about it...and she lost. Kudos to him.

How do you know he was trying to provoke. Maybe he was doing a documentary or something. Who knows

I apologize, maybe I should have been more clear. Not "provoke" with words like you mention but by his "action" of filming the police station. Sure he has that right, but he was clearly doing it to get into that verbal exchange of legal rights and to record it.

Possible, but I have watched about ~20 of these videos in the last few weeks where people are doing these types of things to get the police into a legal rights confrontation where the person filming is very knowledgeable of the laws and rights of people and police powers.
