Re: Victim Of Valenzuela City Flood

He was actually killed first by the collapse...I think an 8-meter wall collapsed on the houses. There were two casualties, an adult male (the one in the picture, I think) and a 9-year old child. Rescuers took about 30 minutes to free the child (but was declared dead on arrival at the hospital) while the body of the man was freed from the debris after about 13 hours. The man's two young sons were able to escape unscathed.

I'm hoping he/she died was killed by the collapse first. Drowning is a scary way to go.

Re: Victim Of Valenzuela City Flood

This is about 30 miles from where I live.

The drains and rivers are usually so clogged with garbage that the water goes nowhere.

It could all be prevented if the officialdom really wanted to, if they got their fingers out and used some of the ample unemployed labour around to clean and open up drains and rivers, take care of garbage, educate the people better about it, but they are too busy fat-catting with their brand new 4x4's and partying with their crony friends to do their jobs properly.

Don't you just hate it when your house collapses while you're in it?
