love this story. read the book "Alive" when I was young. I met Nando Parrado at a conference once. 5 of us sat at the same table and i spoke with him for a few hours a day for a long weekend. He is a great man. Very inspiring. I didn't want to ask him all about the crash because everyone else was. instead i hoped he would tell me. On our last day of the conference, i told him, as i was shaking his hand, that the world is a better place with him in it. He smiled and gripped my hand hard and said thank you. Great experience.

There was a very good documentary on UK TV when the film came out. In photos 7 and 9 you can see red 'objects' on the planes fuselage. This is flesh being thawed out before being distributed!

What happened to the fuselage once they were rescued? I’ve seen several videos of people visiting over the last 10-20 years and there is very little there anymore. Eroded away? Covered? Removed? |
