Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

I watched The Bridge last night. I thought it was rubbish.

It's basically just people that knew folk that's jumped off the bridge, being interviewed. With some footage thrown in of the jumpers walking along the bridge.

Basic. Dare I say we could be doing with a sequel?

Nah, don't bother making one cuz this was shite.
Well how good can a film about people jumping off a bridge be, with so little footage of the act itself... bah...

...if I wanted emotion I'd have watched a fucking chick flick!

I dont know what you expected. Interview with the deceased jumpers? John Woo effects? More gore?

I think it was interesting. I personally didnt know anyone who took their own lives so far and nothing similar happened to any of my friends so it was interesting to see the effects of such an act, even how the friends/relatives perceived those who killed themselves.

How many people jump off that bridge per year? I wanted to see them jumping off the fucker 5 men a minute at least!

Yea and throw in some John Woo effects, and some creepy filters. Death metal music. You know what I'm talkin about. No messin around.

Emotional fucking shite. They played it far too safe. The film should've caused an international outrage!! Banned in most countries....

Well, I understand what you are saying. I wouldnt be on this site if I wasn't interested in gruesome stuff, but seeing that its an actual movie and its on youtube, I wouldn't have got my hopes up to see a 10/10 snuff film :)
I expected a watchable documentary and that's what I got.

Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

hahah yea ah know, but I think watchable is being kind to it. I had to watch it over the span of an entire 24 hours. I couldn't sit down and watch it for it's own runtime. They could've tried a little with the music, at the very least! I had to keep forcing myself to go back to it!

Re: The Golden Gate Bridge

according to some other posts in this thread, a kid fell off accidentally and survived, and one lady survived her first jump attempt (and then later succeeded).

my mom works at a hospital near the tapan zee bridge which sees a moderate number of suicides. they bring the people there and while almost all of them are dead on arrival, a lucky few survive if the water is choppy enough. one guy jumped in and broke a ridiculous amount of bones, but he survived. he intentionally jumped off the bridge to commit suicide, but in the water he was heard saying "help me, help me!"
