Re: Beelitz Heilstätten (Sanitarium)
I hate this place, Wolfgang Schmidt (serial killer) had hidden in this ruins. Wolfgang Schmidt From 1989 to 1991, former police officers and harvesters caused by a series of murders of five women and an infant and three assassination attempts for attention. The female victims were 34 to 66 years old and were from him partially abused sexually. The baby was struck against a tree stump. He was named for his alleged penchant for pink lingerie and its size in popular media as the "Pink Giant" and because of the crime scene as "Beast of Beelitz". |

Re: Beelitz Heilstätten (Sanitarium)
Priceless. I hope they save these places. Thats not to say that I would want it as a total tourist attraction cause the attraction would loose mood, but I would hate to see these places knocked down. amazing pictures. These pictures are so powerful, feels like I traveled back in time.

Re: Beelitz Heilstätten (Sanitarium)
Not sure if this has been posted before but I came across these and thought I would share. The last image is from somewhere else in Germany but I thought the construction of the room was a little out of the ordinary. Hope you enjoy. Beelitz-Heilstätten west of Berlin, is an amazing complex of 60 abandoned and derelict hospital buildings. The oldest buildings are from 1898 drawn by architect Heino Schmieden. The complex became a war hospital during WW1. In 1916 Adolf Hitler was recovering here after being shot in the leg in the Battle of the Somme. After WW2 the hospital was occupied by Soviet forces. They left in 1995 |
