less money the taxpayers have to pay. We should inject some more of them. At least his meal of Long John Silvers was cheap. But, I still see no reason on feeding someone who's about to die. |

Thomas Arnold Kemp Jr. Executed April 25, 2012 10:08 a.m. by Lethal Injection in Arizona ![]() Victim: Hector Soto Juarez, 25 Crime: Kemp and his partner, Jeffrey Logan, set the bought a .380 semiautomatic handgun from a pawn shop days before the abduction of Hector Juarez. Late on July 11, 1992, the men took Juarez from the apartment parking lot. At midnight, the two withdrew $200 with Juarez's bank card and drove him to the Silverbell Mine area. Kemp walked his victim 50 to 70 feet from the vehicle, made him take off his clothes and then shot him twice. Kemp and Logan drove to Flagstaff, where they sold their now repainted vehicle and bought another gun. The two then kidnapped a couple and forced them to drive to Durango, Colorado, where the husband and wife were sexually assaulted. The couple escaped after driving to Denver, and Kemp and Logan soon separated. Logan was arrested after contacting Tucson police about the Juarez murder. Kemp was taken into custody at a homeless shelter in Tucson. Kemp was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping and armed robbery. Citations: none yet Final/Special Meal: A cheeseburger, fries and root beer; boysenberry pie with strawberry ice cream. Final Words: "I regret nothing." |

Beunka Adams Executed April 26, 2012 06:25 p.m. CDT by Lethal Injection in Texas ![]() Victim: Kenneth Wayne Vandever, 24 Crime: Along with accomplice Richard Cobb, Adams robbed a convenience store in Rusk, Texas. At the time of the robbery, Candace Driver and Nikki Dement were working in the store, and the only customer present was Kenneth Vandever. Adams and Cobb were wearing masks and after getting cash from the register, forced the two employees and the customer into a Cadillac parked in the lot and drove to a remote location. After forcing Driver and Vandever into the trunk, Adams and Cobb sexually assaulted Dement. They later made all three victims kneel on the ground, shooting all three with a shotgun. Believing all were dead, both fled the scene. Vandever died from his wounds, but Driver and Dement survived and testified against Adams and Cobb. Accomplice Cobb was convicted and sentenced to death in a separate trial eight months before Adams. Evidence tied the two, met as ninth-graders at a boot camp, to a string of robberies that happened around the same time. Citations: Adams v. State, Not Reported in S.W.3d, 2007 WL 1839845 (Tex. Crim. I messed up and can't take that back." Adams expressed love to his family and asked his victims and their families not to be taken over by hate. "I am not the malicious person that you think I am. I was real stupid back then. I made a great many mistakes." |
