Re: 2011 Executions in the USA
That falls under "cruel and unusual punishment". There was a pedophile in Texas, I don't remember his name, but he asked to be castrated completely. We're talking Ken doll smooth, he said he would do it again, that he cannot control himself and that's why he asked to have his genitals removed. The state denied his request, HIS request under cruel and unusual punishment.

Hey guys, back from vacation! Some people were zeroed while I was away: Eric John King Executed March 29, 2011 at 10:22 p.m. by Lethal Injection in Arizona ![]() Crime: Shortly after midnight, a black male brandishing a pistol robbed a convenience market in Phoenix. During the course of the robbery, both the store clerk, 46 year old Ron Barman, and the security guard, 61 year old Richard Butts, were shot and killed. The robbery was captured on two video cameras which showed the robber wearing a distinctive sweater shooting the clerk. No one else was present in the store at the time of the robbery. The security guard was discovered by a passing driver outside the store with an empty holster. While dialing 9-1-1, the witness observed a black man wearing a distinctive sweater walk up to the security guard on the ground and wipe his holster and belt with a cloth. Nekita Renee Hill lived within walking distance of the Short Stop. As she approached, Hill saw King, with whom she was acquanted, walk toward a dumpster and throw a thin plastic bag in the dumpster. The bag was later recovered and contained a gun and a dark sweater with a white diamond pattern that Hill had seen defendant wearing earlier that night. Hill's boyfriend, Michael Jones, testified at trial that he was at the Short Stop when the robbery and murders occurred. He testified that he and King had gone to the Short Stop to buy wine and that he had remained outside while defendant went inside the store. Jones said that while he was waiting outside, he heard gunshots. On hearing the shots, he turned toward the store and saw defendant leaving the store with a gun in his hand and the security guard lying on the ground in front of the store. Jones was later released and no charges were filed against him.At the time of the murders, King had just been released from prison after serving seven years for rape and kidnapping. William Glenn Boyd Executed March 31, 2011 06:23 p.m. by Lethal Injection in Alabama ![]() Crime: Boyd and Robert Milstead broke into the home of Fred and Evelyn Blackmon in Anniston, tying them up and convincing them that the two men had kidnapped Evelyn's daughter. Fred was accompanied at gunpoint to the bank and encouraged to withdraw $5,000. Both were then bound and gagged and driven to a woods area where they were beaten and shot to death. Boyd and Milstead later returned to the scene to dispose of the bodies. Fred's body was discovered in the trunk of his car, submerged into the Coosa River. Evelyn's body was also found in the river inside a metal drum. Her body had been hacked with an axe in an attempt to make her more easily fit in the drum. Both men gave several statements after arrest leading police to the bodies, each pointing to the other identified as the shooter. Accomplice Milstead received a life sentence by plea agreement and testified against Boyd at trial. The jury recommended a sentence of life in prison without parole, but citing the heinous nature of the crime, the trial judge overrode the jury and ordered the death penalty. Citations: Boyd v. Clarence Carter Executed April 12, 2011 10:25 a.m. by Lethal Injection in Ohio ![]() Crime: While in the Hamilton County Jail Annex awaiting sentencing for an Aggravated Murder charge as a self-described "hit man" for a group of Cincinnati drug traffickers, Carter attacked fellow inmate, Johnny Allen, 33. The muscular Carter choked, stomped, punched and kicked Allen during the 25-minute fight, beating him to the point that Allen's mother later said he was "so bruised he was unrecognizable." He died two weeks later. Carter paused long enough during the beating to periodically wipe the blood from his sneakers. The fight had apparently started after an argument two weeks earlier over what to watch on television. That altercation resulted in Carter punching Allen, but the incident was not reported. Allen was being held on a Theft charge. Citations: State v. Carter, 64 Ohio St.3d 218, 594 N.E.2d 595 (Ohio 1992). (Direct Appeal) Carter v. Anderson, 585 F.3d 1007 (6th Cir. 2009). (Habeas) Final/Special Meal: Carter had refused a special meal. He broke a fast by eating dates, then tuna and bread. Final Words: "I'd like to say I'm sorry for what I did, especially to his mother. I ask God for forgiveness and them for forgiveness." |
