Re: 2010 Executions in the USA

Why, some people snuffed it during the crash so here we go:

Donald Ray Wackerly II

Executed October 14, 2010 06:12 p.m. CDT by Lethal Injection in Oklahoma

Crime:

51-year-old Pan Sayakhoummane enjoyed fishing along the Arkansas River near Muldrow. Upon leaving, he was confronted by Wackerly and his wife Michelle. Wackerly shot him eight times with a .22 rifle, stole his fishing gear, pushed his vehicle into the river, and fled. His body was found the next day. Wackerly was not arrested until three months later when Michelle told authorities she was at the scene when her husband killed Sayakhoummane. Michelle testified with immunity that the day before Sayakhoummane was killed, her husband told her he needed money for a drug habit and would do "whatever it took" to get it, as he loaded a .22-caliber rifle, while wearing latex gloves and wiping off each bullet before loading it in the chamber. The next morning, the Wackerlys spotted Sayakhoummane fishing along the Arkansas River. After determining no one else was around, they waited near Sayakhoummane's vehicle until he returned from fishing. Latex gloves, Sayakhoummane's tackle box and a .22-caliber rifle and ammunition, consistent with a bullet retrieved from Sayakhoummane's body, were seized from Wackerly's apartment. A pawn shop owner also told jurors that Wackerly was the man who pawned fishing reels in his shop, which were identified as the reels stolen from Sayakhoummane shortly after he was murdered.

Citations:

Wackerly v. State, 12 P.3d 1 (Okla.Crim. App. 2000) (Direct Appeal).
Wackerly v. Workman, 580 F.3d 1171 (10th Cir. 2009) (Habeas).

Final/Special Meal:

A medium stuffed-crust pizza from Pizza Hut with mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives and jalapenos, a Dr Pepper, coconut cream pie, and a chocolate shake.

Final Words:

Wackerly and two buddhist monks repeatedly recited a six-syllable chant — "om mani padme hum" — described as a "mantra of ultimate compassion." Wackerly's attorneys also joined in the chant.

Larry Wayne Wooten

Executed October 21, 2010 06:21 p.m. CDT by Lethal Injection in Texas

Crime:

80-year-old Grady Alexander and his wife Bessie, 86, were found dead in their home. Each had been stabbed several times and their throats had been cut. Grady had been hit over the head with an iron skillet, and Bessie had been hit in the head with the butt of a gun. Wooten was a cocaine addict who knew the Alexanders, having been previously married to their neice. He had been in their home and had done odd jobs for them around the house. DNA evidence, including blood found on the Alexanders' kitchen floor matched to Wooten, who claimed that he went to their home in Paris, found the bodies and fled. In 1982, Wooten pled guilty to burglary of a habitation with intent to rape a 73-year-old womanand was sentenced to 7 years probation. Two years later, he was arrested for trying to break into the same woman's home. He pleaded guilty again and served six months in prison.

Re: 2010 Executions in the USA

This to me is the thread of the year. I love seeing murderous scum bags finally get their due. I just wish that there was a way to have someone who died and was brought back to life to tell them there is no heaven nor hell just blackness and silence. That would send them off a little freaked out.

Re: 2010 Executions in the USA

This one is just fkn stupid on the part of the authorities.. and the mother too for that matter.

So the arsehole was sentenced to 10yrs in '82 for a sexual crime. He was released early, committed further sexual crimes in '90 for which he was sentenced to 20yrs. Then, again, he was released early to murder that young girl a year free in '02.

.
Does anyone else think he resembles Bush? nose and eyes and hair... Bush lil bro?

Re: 2010 Executions in the USA

Excellent posts. Some thoughts: I love Texas justice as Death Row means Death Row and not spending 20 years waiting to be executed and costing taxpayers millions of dollars in prison and legal fees.

The fat Santa Claus fuck sex offender. Yet another example of why sex offenders need to be castrated so they can never hurt anyone again. There should also be NO PAROLE for a violent sex offender or one who commits a crime against a child. They are sick bastards and there is no cure. They are paroled and released only to commit more crimes against women and children.
You're wrong my friend, there is a cure... A cure that works 100%, death.

Re: 2010 Executions in the USA

Jeffrey Timothy Landrigan a/k/a Billy Patrick Wayne Hill

Executed October 26, 2010 at 10:26 p.m. by Lethal Injection in Arizona

Crime:

Chester Dean Dryer was a 42 year old man who worked in a health club and was known to pick up men and take them home. Dyer called friends to tell them he was having sex with a man named Jeff. He was later found strangled by an electrical cord and stabbed to death in his apartment. A deck of pornographic playing cards were strewn over the bed. Landrigan's shoes matched a footprint left in sugar in Dyer's apartment. He told police that he had beaten Dyer after Dyer made sexual advances, but that another man had done the killing. Landrigan was uncooperative and disruptive during his trial, and at sentencing told the Judge "If you want to give me the death penalty, bring it on, I'm ready."

Landrigan was abandoned by his parents as an infant. His birth father, whom he never met face to face, died on death row in Arkansas. His grandfather was shot to death by police while robbing a drugstore. In 1982, when he was 20, Landrigan lived in Oklahoma and stabbed to death a childhood friend. He was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life, but the conviction was overturned on appeal and Landrigan entered a plea agreement to second-degree murder and a 20-year prison term. In 1989, Landrigan escaped from a minimum security work crew and headed for Arizona.

Citations:

State v. Landrigan, 176 Ariz. 1, 859 P.2d 111 (Ariz. 1993). (Direct Appeal)
Schriro v. Landrigan, 550 U.S. 465, 127 S.Ct. 1933 (2007). (Habeas)
Landrigan v. State, 700 P.2d 218 (Okla. Cr. 1985). (Unrelated Murder Reversed)

Final / Special Meal:

Steak, fried okra, french fries, strawberry ice cream and a Dr. Pepper.

Final Words:

“Well, I’d like to say thank you to my family for being here and all my friends, and Boomer Sooner.” (Sooners is the team nickname at the University of Oklahoma)
