Tom Pryce was the driver, marshall - Van Vuuren, ran across the track holding a fire extinguisher, which hit Pryce in the head. Vuuren was killed instantly as was Pryce, whose car continued on flat out down the straight finally crashing at its end.

This is the most confusing DR thread I've ever run across. Armin van Buuren did epic euro trance. I have over 10 of his cds. It's too bad he passed so violently.

At the speed F1 cars travel down a straight, it would be easy to misjudge how long it would take for a car to close on you. The marshals were volunteers, Van Vuuren was both young and inexperienced. His objective was to get to the stricken car that was on fire.

Yes, it was a bad move, but in the days of lax safety regulations, it wasn’t all that unfathomable.
