It's funny that when someone is famous and loved people don't want to believe that they can be freaky. He's wearing a wig and fishnets and wouldn't be surprised if there are a pair of heels near by.

Not saying you're right or wrong, necessarily, but my recollection from the original story is that he was found in drag while hanging, including a lady's wig and women's clothes. Could explain the hair color...
