Re: Jasenovac - Cruelest Death Camp

This is heavy. Its like the highest level for humans, a plateau of evil. I wonder how it feels to be in a human orc horde that commits deeds like this. It must be like a weird state of nirvana, ultimate freedom ultra satanic, plowing around in your "enemys" bodys and decay, not careing at all, being the perpetrator, breaking all boundaries set by men.
The executioners on the pictures didnt grow up with sensasion gore or mondo to soften them up either.
I wonder if this is in all basic human souls, or if psychopaths always unquestionably sets the plateau and the flock follows.

Re: Jasenovac - Cruelest Death Camp

The magnitude of horror is inexplicable. I wonder if some officers felt guilty or its like Phillip Lombardo found that there is a "satan switch" in all humans given the right set of circumstances. I think being the best person you can is all you can do.

By the way, I fucked his last name up as it is Phillip Zimbardo and his book was the "Lucifer Effect" which looks at how once people, even said pacifists, are in a position of power and see those in less powerful positions as subjects or subhuman they are capable of committing unspeakable acts. His original study was the Stanford Prison experiment where students became prisoners and prison guards. Although they could not physically harm the prisoners they resorted to psychological torture and the study had to be stopped early because of this.
BUT reading further about this camp which was made a museum and memorial in 1965 and then
[quote] At he end of September 1991, the Croatian Army entered the Jasenovac memorial park by force. According to the Hague Convention on the protection of historical and cultural monuments, the Croatian Army severely broke the agreement by entering the protected area. Although the international public informed about desecration of the memorial park. there was not much of a response.
[QUOTE]
The most interesting thing is that
Even the Nazi generals were amazed at the horrors of Jasenovac. Thus, General von Horstenau, Hitler's representative in Zagreb, wrote in his personal diary for 1942 that the Ustasha camps in the NDH were >>the epitome of horror<<, and Arthur Hefner, a German transport officer for work forces in the Reich, wrote on November 11, 1942 of Jasenovac: >>The concept of the Jasenovac camp should actually be understood as several camps which are several kilometers apart, grouped around Jasenovac. Regardless of the propaganda, this is one of the most horrible of camps, which can only be compared to Dante's Inferno<<.
This camp was 'subcontracted' out so to speak by the Nazis to the Croation Security Police. They mutilated, starved, tortured, raped and just about anything to Jews, Gypsies and a lot of Serbs. The site I am linking said the Roman Catholic Church were also perpetrators. They also had special knives shown in the OP's pictures to slaughter and maim quickly.
Thanks for sharing. Even though this is fucking horrible I like learning new things. I always do on here

The Croatian Army had every right to occupy its own land, so you are incorrect when you claim that it "broke the agreement by entering the protected area." Every valid custom of international law in existence gives each country the right to occupy and protect is own sovereign territory, and to claim otherwise would be extremely irresponsible and totally misrepresentative of the facts.

^ The link you posted accusing the Vatican of war crimes is run by Serbians, who are well known for their denial of having committed genocide despite dozens of convictions in international courts.

As for the German soldiers who said they were shocked, these were troops who were unaware of the even greater mass murder occurring back in Germany. People may have died at this camp, but it was a tiny number relative to the numbers of Jews who were killed by the Germans at Auschwitz, Sobibor, Maidanek, etc.

Small camps such as this one were set up in all of occupied Europe under the orders of Hitler, including Serbia, Holland, France, Russia, Poland and all the other countries under German rule during WWII. This is nothing new, and nothing compared to other far greater atrocities occurring in German occupied Europe at the time.

Re: Jasenovac - Cruelest Death Camp

The 30,000 to 50,000 who were killed at this camp is in fact tiny compared to the number of people killed at other camps run by the Germans during World War II. At Auschwitz, 1 million were killed and other camps such as Sobibor upwards of 600,000 were killed.

For Serbians to claim that this little camp was somehow more cruel or that a greater number of people died here is false and misleading.

However, it is very consistent with the Serbian tendency to lie and exaggerate. To this day, Serbs deny having committed genocide despite being found guilty of doing so by international courts of law.

I also quoted that part about breaking the agreement the quote link was broken and I could not edit this. I am not claiming to be an expert on Croatian or Serbian history. I think I did say I learned something new. I do not want in your Serbia/Croatia argument because I do not claim to know enough or have a proverbial dog in this fight.
