An excessive show of brute force. And why two, one for Nagasaki and one for Hiroshima? I think the point would have been made just as well with one: we can and will completely fuck you in the ass. Time to surrender.

What history books do you read We did drop one, we gave ultimatum and the Japs refused surrender. Its important to note that the bomb may have been made in US but England and Winston Churchill's assets were also used.

Terrible thing to do...however it did help end the war quicker than might of been the case, still nasty though

The Japanese began the war from the air at Pearl Harbor. The Japanese did bomb Pearl Harbor with 2897 Americans killed, 879 wounded, and 26 missing. It was an act of cowardice. War is hell.

Re: Atomic Bomb Victims, 1945

So far this thread is one side versus the other side. Misconceptions started the pacific war. It started with Japan invading China and American interests. The Chino, Japanese war was a tragedy, but due to animosities built up on both sides. The United states recoiling from WW1. Became an isolation country.

At the same time Japan was an up and coming first world country. They feared US influence in the Dutch Indies, Specifically resources. It was bound to happen. A battle of the Pacific was bound to happen.

Add Japans culture of "Bushido" and America's war like culture what do you think was going to happen. A battle of annihilation?

War is a failure of one side our both sides of negotiation.

Re: Atomic Bomb Victims, 1945

And ever since the Japanese have not fucked with anybody, they've stayed home, kept to themselves, minded their own business, made a few cars and T.V's...
