Chungking, China, June 5, 1941  An Italian parachutist from the Folgore Division throws himself under the tracks of a British Sherman with his mine to blow it up (North Africa, 1942)  Russian POW used to clear battlefield. Dragging burned body  This Russian soldier made it out of the debris of his destroyed tank but then died of his injuries  The body of a Soviet soldier lies flattened in the dirt of the roadway. There was no time or need to recover and bury the body  Ten years after the fierce fighting in 1944/45 the remains of a German soldier of the 326th volksgrenadier-division had been found in the valley of Perlenbach (pearlcreek). The helmet penetrated by a shell splinter, below parts of the spine and the ribcage. To the right the rusty gasmask-canister  Burial at sea after the kamikaze attack... 16 men lost their lives as a result of this action  General Anton Dostler's last moment before his death. This picture was taken shortly after the deadly shots had been fired. You can see that the bullets left the generals body at the back  A German soldier was hit by a Russian sniper in the back of the head, Russia 1942. It's taken from the German Bundesarchiv (like the National Archives)  East meets the West for the camera, but tension builds  Dead German soldier during the Battle of the Bulge, next to him the Christmas greeting card of his family  An American paratrooper hanging dead in tree near Wesel/Germany in 1945. Unable to move he was an easy target for German snipers  This German soldier has been hit by the enemy fire while attacking the 10th Russian Army (Central Sector), circa 1941  |

This is no more to the point that govt is your enemy. They will mislead you and use you only for their personal gain, which is why I will NEVER travel to a foreign land to fight an "enemy". They gotta come to me. *scoffs* If everyone thought like that there would be no wars. Just think |

I don't see any of these images as the enemy, I just view them as the tragedy of a once terrible terrible situation. And yet war has always gone on and will continue to do so. |
