Steve, I've argued that point for years. When I saw my dad in that casket, back in '82, I knew that wasn't the same person in life. And I honestly didn't want to see my mother and two brothers laid up in a box, but I didn't want to disappoint the rest of my family. I think funeral rituals, for some, might be a way of remembering loved ones, but for others, like you and me, it's does nothing but prolong the pain of their loss.

I truly believe this is a beautiful way to remember the people close to you who have died especially if they died suddenly.. why not take a photo? It seems very morbid nowadays and is obviously quite taboo but why not? I certainly wouldnt have a problem with it! Why was it abandoned? BTW great post lotsa pics well done! |
