I truly believe this is a beautiful way to remember the people close to you who have died especially if they died suddenly.. why not take a photo? It seems very morbid nowadays and is obviously quite taboo but why not? I certainly wouldnt have a problem with it! Why was it abandoned?

BTW great post lotsa pics well done!
I agree completely!! When my 7yr. old son passed away, I asked my Sister's brother-in-law to take photo's at the funeral for me, he did, but my Sister trying to protect me I guess wouldn't let him give them to me! I still wish that I had those picture's.

This is a very facinating collection of historical photos - it makes death look somehow quite serene and less dramatic. For the most part, it all feels peaceful to me. Great post.

This is a fascinating collection of historical photos. I find them all quite serene and less dramatic as current photos of the deceased. Great post.
