yeah see that window would have been boarded off, sealed off something before i used that bathroom. I'm one of those people who keeps the house cave dark from light blocking curtains and stuff in front of windows, so if someone tries to come in through one they knock the shit over.

I have to have it black to sleep although I have a couple of those sleep masks now.

If someone comes in most of the windows, they'd trip over something or land on a chair, if they're lucky.

I'm still rather confused! I can see the picture, but who, as a landlord/builder would put a feature like that in any dwelling? That's the shaft to the right of the mirror?? Good lord, I'd be thinking lawsuit!

I have never seen anything like that and hopefully, I won't run into any, or should I say, fall, into one?

It doesn't look like good planning was involved

This is actually the apartment above hers and it has no shower that I can see.

I'm thinking, she got in the tub, looked in the mirror and jumped out the window. I may have done the same thing ;)

It finally claimed him on June 13, 2012, one day after his birthday. You can only abuse your body so much.

I'm not here to lecture or judge, but, I lost all three of my brothers to effects of alcohol in one way or another.
I'm so sorry for your losses. I lost a good friend last October to alcohol. Considering all she had been through, I can't blame her for wanting to numb the pain.

They have those shafts in old apartment buildings here... but the openings are usually above head and small.

Think the landlord could have glass blocked them with a vent for safety.

I would have thought a child would have climbed or fallen out before an adult.

Even a sober person could have slipped in water and fallen out.

Thank you, Megamel. I'm sorry for your loss as well.

The brother who just passed had a rough last few years.

It's such a helpless feeling to not be able to help. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

He had three beautiful kids and thee beautiful grandchildren! Needless to say, the kids are devastated! I miss him terribly, too <3

Don't how my mom survived. My dad died in 2008, the youngest brother in a fire in 2009, the oldest in 2010, and the middle one in 2012.

They made them tougher when my mom was born :)

This is true! I like my mirror theory ;)
